Welcome to Joie De Vivre Maine Coons.
Our cattery is not just a place where cats live—it is their home.
Our cats and kittens are raised in a spacious two-story home that has been specially adapted for them. Throughout the house you'll find climbing trees, shelves, toys, and comfortable spaces where they can play, explore, rest, and interact with people every day.
Inside Our Cattery
Kittens
At around 3–4 weeks of age, each litter moves into its own spacious playpen. This is where the kittens begin eating independently, learning to use the litter box, playing, and developing confidence, well-socialized companions.
Every kitten is raised as a member of our family, receiving daily attention, affection, and human interaction from the very beginning.
Fresh Air Every Day
One of the things that makes our cattery unique is that our cats have access to a large, secure outdoor catio every day.
Fresh air and natural sunlight are an important part of my philosophy of raising healthy Maine Coons.
Cats enjoy climbing, watching birds, feeling the breeze, and experiencing the changing seasons in complete safety.
Natural sunlight also plays an important role in overall well-being.
While ordinary window glass lets in visible light, it blocks most UVB rays, which are needed for the skin to naturally produce vitamin D. Outdoor time allows cats to experience natural sunlight in the way nature intended.
Daily access to fresh air keeps my cats active, curious, and mentally stimulated while allowing them to enjoy the outdoors in a safe environment.
Nutrition: Building Health From the Very Beginning
I believe that a kitten's lifelong health begins long before it goes to its new home. It starts with healthy parents, excellent nutrition, and a natural environment.
My cats are fed a balanced diet that includes premium-quality dry food, canned food, fresh raw meat, and freshly cooked chicken.
Whenever possible, I purchase organic, farm-raised chickens directly from a local farm. Preparing their food is an important part of my routine. Every batch is made fresh in my cattery using a professional commercial meat grinder that processes the meat together with the edible bones, providing a natural source of calcium and other important minerals.
Chicken legs are prepared separately. I cook them fresh and serve them as cooked meat, because I want my kittens to become familiar with both raw and cooked foods. Not every family chooses to feed raw after bringing their kitten home, so I believe it's important for kittens to comfortably enjoy both diets.
Fresh meat provides highly digestible animal protein together with naturally occurring amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that support healthy growth, muscle development, and a strong immune system during the most important months of a kitten's life.
For me, nutrition is never about choosing one food instead of another. It is about providing a balanced, species-appropriate diet that helps my cats thrive.
The videos and photos below show exactly how I prepare the food for my cattery. I believe my families deserve to see not only the beautiful kittens they fall in love with, but also the care, time, and work that goes into raising them.
Healthy kittens don't happen by chance. They are raised that way.
