Alternative Perspectives on Vaccination
Supplemental Educational Material:At Joie De Vivre Felinology School, we respect and study both classical and holistic veterinary approaches.
Both systems are legitimate, both exist within the law in the United States and worldwide, and both contribute valuable knowledge to the field of animal health.Because our philosophy embraces balanced education, we believe it is important for cat owners to be aware not only of the conventional veterinary position on vaccination — which every veterinarian can explain — but also of the alternative perspective within holistic veterinary medicine.
For this reason, we are providing you with access to a chapter from Dr. Don Hamilton’s book on vaccinations.
Dr. Hamilton is a veterinarian who transitioned from classical practice into holistic veterinary medicine after many years of clinical experience and personal research.
His conclusions differ from traditional protocols, and he presents a viewpoint in which vaccinations may carry more risks than benefits for certain animals. We want to be very clear:
• We are not veterinarians.
• We did not conduct this research ourselves.
• We are simply offering educational material that represents an established alternative opinion within holistic veterinary medicine. Our role is not to tell you what to believe or what choice to make.
Our role is to give you access to information from both worlds so you can make informed, thoughtful decisions that reflect your values and your understanding of your animal’s health. You may download this chapter for free directly from our website.
For your convenience, we have also recorded an audio version, available on our YouTube channel. It is approximately two and a half hours long.
Please excuse any minor imperfections in the recording — we are still gaining experience in producing long-format educational audio materials, and we appreciate your understanding. Our goal is simply to make this knowledge accessible to everyone who wishes to explore it.
