Joie De Vivre Felinology School
At Joie De Vivre, we know how to build a healthy cattery and raise strong, thriving kittens.
We live it, we practice it, and we know how to teach it.
The philosophy of Joie De Vivre Felinology School is the union of classical and holistic veterinary medicine for the well-being of every animal.
The modern world is changing rapidly, and with it, the approaches to animal care are evolving as well.
Today, the veterinary community includes two major directions:
classical veterinary medicine and holistic medicine.
Both approaches are legitimate, both have experience, research, and devoted practitioners — and both bring value, each in its own way.
The strength of classical medicine lies in its ability to quickly address symptoms, manage acute conditions, and utilize the full potential of modern scientific advancements.
The holistic approach, on the other hand, views the animal as a whole: not just the symptoms, but the underlying causes that may lie deeper — in immunity, nutrition, stress levels, biochemistry, the microbiome, hormonal balance, and even the environment.
In my school, we do not place these two worlds in opposition.
We create a space where we take the best of both sides and allow them to complement one another.
Real-life practice shows that extremes rarely help.
Sometimes an animal truly needs an antibiotic — and refusing it can be dangerous.
But sometimes a symptom appears because of a deeper systemic issue — and simply “suppressing” it is not enough. In such cases, a holistic approach is essential to address the root cause.
The optimal path is to see the whole picture.
This is the core philosophy of our school.
We teach that an animal’s health is always a balance:
between science and nature, between standardized protocols and intuition, between established methods and the individuality of each living being.
