Before We Start Choosing Your Kitten…

To save you from waiting and to avoid answering the same questions one by one, I have prepared this short page with all the essential information about our cattery, our prices, and the adoption process. Please take a few minutes to read it, and afterward I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about a specific kitten.

The first question I'm usually asked is, "How much does a kitten cost?" Once the price range is acceptable, the next questions usually follow.

Here are the questions I am asked most often:

• How does the adoption process work?

• How do I know you're not a scam?

• Can I visit your home and meet the kittens in person?

• What health guarantees do you provide?

• Are the kittens vaccinated? Are they spayed/neutered?

• Do you offer delivery?

If I were looking for a purebred kitten myself, I would want answers to these questions too.

I'd also like to tell you what makes my cattery different: how I raise my kittens, why their health is always my top priority, and why so many families come back to me for a second, third, fourth, and even fifth Maine Coon.

In the past, I answered all of these questions separately for every client. It took a great deal of time for both my clients and me.

So I decided to put all the important information together in one place.

Below you'll find answers to the questions I receive most often, learn how my cattery operates, the principles behind my breeding program, and what you can expect if you decide to purchase a kitten from me.

How much does a kitten cost?

Our pet-quality kittens start at $2,500.

Our stud carries the blue-eye gene, so approximately half of our kittens are born with blue eyes or odd-colored eyes (one blue eye and one gold eye). These kittens are priced at $3,000.

One of our queens is polydactyl. Kittens born with extra toes are an additional $500.

Breeding rights are available to approved breeding homes for an additional $500.

Please note: Prices listed above are starting prices. Exceptionally rare colors, markings, eye color combinations, outstanding show or breeding potential, or unusually high demand may result in a higher price. We reserve the right to determine the final price of each kitten individually.

Reservation

To reserve a kitten, a non-refundable $500 deposit is required. The deposit is applied toward the total purchase price of your kitten.

I accept deposits through Venmo or Zelle.

The remaining balance is due when you pick up your kitten and may be paid by Venmo, Zelle, or cash.

Why Do So Many Families Choose Our Cattery?

Almost anyone can become a breeder. No special education, license, or government certification is required. However, raising truly healthy, strong, and well-socialized kittens is an entirely different matter. It requires knowledge, experience, continuous learning, and daily dedication.

I have a medical background and many years of experience breeding Maine Coons. I know how to raise healthy kittens with strong immune systems, stable temperaments, and wonderful personalities.

Over the years, I realized that many new breeders lack knowledge and support. That is why I created the School of Felinology, where I teach breeders about responsible breeding, kitten care, and disease prevention. Later, I also founded the Alliance of Healthy Catteries, a community of breeders united by one goal: raising healthy cats while continually improving their knowledge and breeding practices.

The greatest proof that my approach works is my clients. Many families return to me for a second, third, fourth, and even fifth Maine Coon. To me, that is the highest compliment and the best recognition of my work.

Health begins from the very first days of a kitten's life. My kittens are raised on a wholesome natural diet based on fresh farm-raised meat, supplemented with premium-quality cat food. I pay close attention to proper development, socialization, cleanliness, disease prevention, and creating the best possible environment for every kitten.

Our entire home is designed with the needs of our cats and kittens in mind. They have plenty of room to play, explore, and exercise, as well as year-round access to a large, secure enclosed porch where they can enjoy fresh air and a natural environment in every season.

When your kitten goes home, our relationship doesn't end. We continue to stay in touch through my private Facebook group. I am always available to answer questions and provide advice whenever my clients need help.

How Does the Adoption Process Work?

Once you have chosen your kitten, a $500 deposit is required to reserve it. The remaining balance is due when you pick up your kitten.

Kittens usually go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age. Most families come to our cattery in Seymour, Connecticut, bring a carrier, pay the remaining balance, and take their new family member home.

How Do I Know You're Not a Scam?

That's a very important question.

Our cattery is officially registered with the two largest cat registries in the world—TICA and CFA. On their official websites, you can find our cattery profile, contact information, and a link to our website.

All of our kittens are registered with either TICA or CFA and go to their new homes with registration documents confirming their pedigree and purebred status.

In addition, we have verified business accounts on both Facebook and Instagram, and you can easily find us through Google.

Can I Visit Your Home and Meet the Kittens?

No, we do not allow visitors into our home.

This decision is not based on a lack of trust in our clients. It is made because the health, well-being, and safety of our cats always come first.

Our cattery is home to pregnant queens, nursing mothers, and young kittens. The presence of unfamiliar people can cause significant stress. We also take biosecurity very seriously and cannot risk exposing our animals to people whose health status we do not know.

There is another important reason as well—our family's safety. Unfortunately, breeders are sometimes targeted by scams and other crimes, so we do not invite strangers into our home.

Instead, I will be happy to arrange a live video call with you. During the call, you will be able to see the kittens in real time, watch them move around, ask any questions you may have, and meet me personally.

In exceptional situations, if someone has previously been the victim of a scam and needs additional reassurance that the kittens are real, I may make an exception. By prior arrangement, you may come to the house, see the kitten through the window, and hand me the deposit in person. However, this remains an exception rather than our standard policy. Visitors are not permitted inside the cattery.

What Health Guarantee Do You Provide?

After your kitten goes home, you will have three days to have your veterinarian examine the kitten. This allows you to independently confirm that your kitten is healthy and in excellent condition.

Are the Kittens Vaccinated? Are They Spayed or Neutered?

No. We do not vaccinate or spay/neuter our kittens before they go to their new homes.

Vaccination, vaccination timing, and spaying/neutering are individual decisions. That is why I have prepared detailed educational materials explaining my approach and recommendations. You can find them in the Home Kitten Guide section of my website.

After your kitten goes home, decisions regarding vaccination and spaying/neutering should be made by the owner in consultation with their veterinarian.

Do You Offer Delivery?

Yes. Although most families pick up their kittens directly from our cattery, delivery can be arranged if needed.
