A client messaged me today. Her Maine Coon boy is 8 months old and weighs 10 pounds.
The vet told her: āHeās small for a Maine Coon.ā
š¼Ā Seriously?
Hereās what most vets donāt know:
Maine Coons are slow-growing cats ā more like mini lynxes than housecats.
Their growth continues up to 3.5 years.
At 8 months, 10 pounds is a fantastic weight.
In fact, I kept five of his sisters for my cattery ā they look huge and fluffy, but they each weigh less than he does: 9 pounds.
Now letās talk about that vet.
āļøA vet is not responsible for your catās long-term health.
Theyāre only responsible for feeding their own family ā and the way to do that is to find as many problems as possible and sell tests, treatments, and services.
šÆĀ Thatās why I always say: take your catās health into your own hands.
šĀ Thatās also why I created the Health Library ā a growing collection of practical guides to help cat owners and breeders understand how the feline body works.
āØĀ If you want clarity instead of fear, start there:
šĀ Library & Shop ā Health Guides for Cat Owners and Breeders.
