šŸ¾Ā ā€œIs he too small?ā€ — When your vet doesn’t understand Maine Coons.

A client messaged me today. Her Maine Coon boy is 8 months old and weighs 10 pounds.

The vet told her: ā€œHe’s small for a Maine Coon.ā€

😼 Seriously?

Here’s what most vets don’t know:

Maine Coons are slow-growing cats — more like mini lynxes than housecats.

Their growth continues up to 3.5 years.

At 8 months, 10 pounds is a fantastic weight.

In fact, I kept five of his sisters for my cattery — they look huge and fluffy, but they each weigh less than he does: 9 pounds.

Now let’s talk about that vet.

ā—ļøA vet is not responsible for your cat’s long-term health.

They’re only responsible for feeding their own family — and the way to do that is to find as many problems as possible and sell tests, treatments, and services.

šŸŽÆĀ That’s why I always say: take your cat’s health into your own hands.

šŸ“šĀ That’s also why I created the Health Library — a growing collection of practical guides to help cat owners and breeders understand how the feline body works.
